Although Romania has five percent of Europe's crude oil resources and the largest gas producer in Central Europe, the country imported about 33 percent of its gas and 66 percent of its oil from Russia. To counteract this dependence on fossil fuels, the country has set ambitious goals. By 2020, 24 percent of final energy consumption will be covered from renewable energy sources and energy production from renewable electricity generation, heat supply and cooling and fuel supply in the transport sector will be expanded further in 2020.
The Romanian potential for using renewable energy sources is large and the awareness of sustainable environmental and energy policy is increasing in the population, economy and politics. Foreign investment and know-how are also encouraged. Overall, the Romanian market will be in the future a growing renewable energy market.
The greatest growth potential is in wind and solar energy field. Wind energy is booming in Romania for a few years, but also in the field of solar energy projects implemented increased. In addition, offer further potential through the efficient use of biomass in existing large extent.
To help this market grow in the border triangle between: Romania, Hungary and Serbia, REECO is organizing the 4th edition of ENREG ENERGIA REGENERABILA®, the biggest international trade fair and conference for renewable energy and energy efficiency in building and renovation. Specialized conferences will take place in the same time with the trade fair, where national and international public authorities, associations, scientists and companies present trends, research results, technologies and innovation in their field.
The international trade fair and conferences expect you with topics like: solar energy, biomass, hydropower, heat pump, geothermal energy and energy efficient construction and renovation. The Solar Park, Biogas Street & Hydropower Avenue are separate trade fair areas, where more exhibitors from these fields will gather in order to be found easier by the specialised visitors.
